Our Founders’ Story
The story of Kalavati Handwork begins in a small village in Gujarat, where founders Vasantben and Vinodbhai lived a life of simplicity,
working as farmers. Their deep connection to nature and rural life nurtured their love for traditional crafts.
Inspired by the rich culture surrounding them, they began learning the intricate art of hand embroidery,
a skill passed down through generations in Gujarat. Seeking new opportunities,
the couple moved to Surat, where they turned their passion into a thriving business.
With their hands deftly crafting the most delicate designs and patterns,
Vasantben and Vinodbhai built Kalavati Handwork from the ground up,
driven by their love for artistry and their commitment to keeping traditional embroidery alive in the modern world.
Today, their legacy continues as they work with skilled artisans,
ensuring that every garment embodies the essence of Indian heritage.
